Saudi Arabia launches the largest trip to discover talented students

RIYADH - The largest annual trip to discover the gifted and talented in scientific fields in various regions of the Kingdom, from the third grade to the second secondary, will be launched tomorrow, Wednesday, through the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba", in a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Education and Training Evaluation Commission.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Sheikh, will patronize at the headquarters of the "Mawhiba" Foundation in Riyadh; The launch of the 12th edition of the National Program for the Detection of Gifted Students and honoring the distinguished education departments in nominating students for the program in its last session, in the presence of the Secretary-General of “Mawhiba” Dr. Saud bin Saeed Al-Mathami, the Chairman of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, Dr. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Sabti, and the Acting Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Saad Al-Fuhaid.

The application of the scale includes students of all grades from the third primary to the first secondary, to enable the largest number of students to have the opportunity to detect and make maximum use of the services allocated to the qualified. Arabic and English.

It is worth noting that during the past eleven years, more than 630,000 students were nominated, of whom more than 430,000 students were tested, and more than 144,000 students were accepted, and the number of candidates, testers and qualified people in the program recorded a significant increase during the eleven years. The number of candidates increased from 43,104 male and female students to 75,996 male and female students at a rate of 43%, while the number of testers increased from 27,782 male and female students to 53,553 male and female students by 47%, The number of qualified students increased from 7,529 male and female students to 17,327 male and female students, at a rate of 56%.

The National Program for the Detection of Gifted Persons was launched in 2011, to achieve a lofty mission aimed at discovering, nurturing and investing talented people as leaders of the future, in order to serve and contribute to achieving sustainable development to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, where the Kingdom, through “Mawhiba”, possesses the most comprehensive program in caring for the gifted in the world. .

The first phase of the National Program for the Detection of Gifted Students was launched in 2011, and included 16 education departments for boys and girls, then the second phase in 2012, which included 29 boys and girls education departments, followed by the third phase in 2013, covering the rest of the education departments, 45 education departments, in addition to Departments that have been added over the past years, bringing the total to 47 education departments.

The National Program for the Detection of the Gifted is one of the main gateways that enable those who pass it to enter the various programs offered by "Mawhiba" with its strategic partners, led by the Ministry of Education.
