Makkah Al-Mukarramah - The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has raised the readiness of the system of technical and operational services provided to the pilgrims of the Grand Mosque, and the full readiness of the human forces to serve the pilgrims of the House of God.
The Under-Secretary-General for Technical, Operational Affairs, Maintenance and Facilities Management, Engineer Sultan Al-Qurashi, confirmed that the presidency has raised the efficiency and operational capacity of the assets of the Grand Mosque, including electrical and mechanical elements and systems, with the creation of spaces designated for prayer and circumambulation, and to strive to ensure the quality of the devotional environment for the pilgrims of the Grand Mosque by providing an integrated system of programs And the initiatives and procedures that it is keen to implement in order to do so.
He pointed out that the agency worked to follow up the operational status of all escalators and elevators, to ensure the readiness of all its parts, and to follow up the operational plan for operators of escalators and elevators, which numbered more than (200) escalators and (14) elevators, and inspected the sound system consisting of (8000) ) a headset through a supervisory device to ensure that all tasks are implemented in accordance with the considered technical standards, in addition to conducting the necessary tests for the sound system on a daily basis inside the Grand Mosque and its corridors and squares, supervised by a team specialized in these works to ensure implementation in accordance with followed technical principles and that they are free from any defects using the latest techniques.
He indicated that the agency had raised the air conditioning power in the Grand Mosque and operated all its units (AHU), and took care of the air conditioning in the courtyards of the Grand Mosque by using (spray air cooling) technology by absorbing thermal energy from the outside air, to reduce its temperature, indicating that the number of spray fans reached Approximately (250) fans distributed over the courtyards of the Grand Mosque, with an air flow speed of up to (1100 CFM) that is operated during the times of prayers and when the courtyards of the Grand Mosque are full and the temperature is high, and all ablution taps in the bathrooms are returned to service after canceling the application of spacing when used and after making sure From its readiness and functioning as required, in addition to raising the cooling capacity of the Zamzam water system, by operating all mashrabiyas in the endeavor and the second Saudi expansion.
