Riyadh - Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - the Riyadh International Book Fair will be launched on the first of next October at the “Riyadh Front”, with the participation of the most important publishing houses from different countries of the world.

The new session of the Riyadh International Book Fair, which is supervised by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, will witness a significant expansion in its various activities and events. It represents 16 cultural sectors. And the Republic of Iraq is the guest of honor for this year’s exhibition.

The authority provided many facilities to participating publishing houses from inside and outside, such as a 50% reduction in the value of space rent, bearing all shipping costs, providing an electronic store accompanying the exhibition for those unable to attend, and electronic selling points for all publishers.

Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, stated that the sectors of books, publishing, language, translation and literature enjoy great support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them -.

His Highness promised the exhibition an important cultural event in the book and publishing industry, as a window of knowledge, highlighting Saudi creative production and stimulating cultural participation and commercial cooperation, so that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia becomes a global gateway to the publishing sector.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, which will run until October 10, the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority will organize a conference for publishers on October 4-5, as the first conference of its kind in the Kingdom. Work in the field of publishing, in addition to various sessions dealing with the process of transferring rights and translation and its opportunities.

During the days of the exhibition, a variety of cultural and literary seminars, poetic and artistic evenings, and spaces for dialogue, interactive lectures, and various workshops in the fields of art, reading, writing, publishing, bookmaking, and translation will be held.

In the new session of the exhibition, the authority seeks to confirm its interest in supporting modern publishing channels; Such as the audio and digital book, in addition to its attention to the accompanying technical and technical aspects, within the framework of the improvements made by the authority in the vision of the exhibition and its development to keep pace with the requirements of the national strategy for culture, and to achieve the goals of the Ministry of Culture aimed at making culture a way of life and raising the level of its contribution to national economic growth, and in Strengthening the Kingdom’s position in the world.
