RIYADH - Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) today announced the development of a new technology and a range of customized polyethylene and polypropylene resins, marking a paradigm shift in the performance profile of polyolefin pressure pipes.

SABIC is working together with Technomatic and Aquatherm, two of the most important pipe manufacturers, to develop this technology from concept to reality, and as the "golden sponsor" of the International Conference and Exhibition on Plastic Pipes (PPXX) held during the period From 6 to 8 September 2021 AD in (Amsterdam), where SABIC presented the new concept of this technology during the conference, and shed more lights about it during the technical sessions of the exhibition.

SABIC has succeeded in improving the formulation of polyethylene and polypropylene resins for the biaxial expansion process, which will allow manufacturers to enhance the main properties of pressure tubes to unprecedented levels, while the new resins - with biaxial expansion (BiAx) technology - provide a new generation Tubing systems are lighter, more durable, and cost-effective.
