Netanyahu: I rejected a US proposal to apply the Afghan model to the Palestinians
Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had earlier rejected the US proposal to apply the Afghan model to the Palestinians.
Netanyahu stated that “the United States of America offered him to apply the Afghan model to the Palestinians,” noting that then US Secretary of State John Kerry called him in 2013 and invited him to “a secret visit to Afghanistan to see how the United States created a local military force capable of fighting terrorism on its own.”
Netanyahu indicated that the message was clear, and said: “The Afghan model is the model that the United States also seeks to apply to the Palestinian cause.”
He continued, "I politely declined the offer and expected that once the United States left Afghanistan, everything would collapse," adding, "Unfortunately, this is what happened today. An extremist regime has invaded Afghanistan and will turn it into a terrorist state that endangers world peace."
Netanyahu pointed out that he expected “we will achieve the same result if we hand over control of the homeland to the Palestinians, God forbid, the Palestinians will not reside in Singapore, they will establish a terrorist state in the West Bank.” We defend ourselves against any threat.”
In his blog, Netanyahu concluded that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and his partner, Yair Lapid, “agreed on a policy of no surprises with Iran, which is a dangerous policy that restricts Israel’s freedom of action.”
