A study warned that the Corona virus, which has infected pigs in China since 2016, could be a cause of the spread of the disease among humans.

The study states that the "Corona virus" strain came from bats.

And North Carolina researchers showed that the virus can infect and reproduce within the human airway, liver and intestinal cells.

SADS-CoV belongs to the same family of viruses as SARS-CoV-2 - the agent behind the Covid-19 pandemic - but it belongs to a different race. Specifically, SADS-CoV is the "alpha corona virus", while SARS-CoV-2 is the "beta corona virus."

The full results of the study are published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
