Qatar loses 6.1% of its economy

Government statistics showed, on Wednesday, that Qatar's economy shrank by 6.1% in the second quarter of the year on an annual basis as a result of the closure of companies and the curtailment of activities due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, at the lowest level since 2012.

The Qatari Planning and Statistics Authority data indicates that the real GDP contracted by 6.4% in the second quarter compared to the first quarter based on constant prices.
