Beth - The President of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, Eng. Majed Abu Zahira, explained that the beginning of the astronomical summer “summer solstice” in the northern hemisphere will occur on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 06:32 AM Saudi time (03:32 AM GMT), as The sun will be directly over the Tropic of Cancer, and the summer will last 93 days, 15 hours and 49 minutes.

Abu Zahira said: "On this day, the sun will reach the far north of the sky, and it will be directly above the Tropic of Cancer, which is the longest day and shortest night of the year in the northern hemisphere."

He added: "Most people think that summer begins on June 1, but this is summer related to meteorological observations, but astronomical summer is determined by the precise tilt of the Earth's orbit and its annual position in the solar system, specifically when the sun is directly above the Tropic of Cancer at noon."
