The Saudi National Museum will resume its activities on Wednesday
RIYADH - The Saudi National Museum announced today, Monday, the resumption of its programs and shows, after the museum was closed during the last period as part of precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus “Covid 19”, as it will provide a safe and enjoyable experience for its visitors.
The museum returns to receive its visitors starting from Wednesday, June 16, 2021 AD, all days of the week from 9 am to 9 pm except for Thursday from 9 am to 11 pm, and on Friday from 1 pm to 11 pm, while the museum closes its doors Sunday.
The administration of the National Museum required those wishing to visit the museum to present the “Tawakulna” application at the entrance gate, to follow the precautionary measures by wearing medical masks, and to leave a safe distance between visitors.
During the coming period, the National Museum will host a number of temporary visiting exhibitions, including an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy, starting from Wednesday, June 16, until Saturday, August 21, 2021. The exhibition presents the origins of Arabic calligraphy and the development of calligraphy.
The Saudi National Museum is a prominent national cultural landmark in the Kingdom. It is located on the eastern side of the King Abdulaziz Historical Center in the Al-Murabba neighborhood in Riyadh. It was built in 1999 AD. The museum building responds architecturally to the scale and volumetric configuration of the neighboring historical buildings represented in the palaces of King Abdulaziz.
The museum presents organized displays in eight main galleries arranged in a steady historical sequence from the creation of the universe to the modern era, and its main axis revolves around the Arabian Peninsula. The first and second Saudi states, the unification of the Kingdom, the Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques, where each hall presents an independent and integrated thematic presentation.
