The Red Sea Company signs a contract with Archirodon Company to build the Shaera Island Bridge
Beth: The Red Sea Development Company, the developer of one of the world’s most ambitious renewable tourism projects, has announced the appointment of Archirodon to design and build a 1.2-kilometre bridge as part of the 3.3-kilometre total crossing connecting the mainland to the project’s main island. kilometer.
John Pagano, CEO of The Red Sea Development Company, said: “Sharira Bridge will become one of the main access points to the island, and its completion will be another major step that will bring us closer to developing the destination. This body is a very important project for us; It is the first crossing to connect the mainland to the destination islands, as well as highlighting our ability to carry out massive engineering work while protecting and enhancing natural habitats.”
The bridge design and construction methods are in line with the strict standards of sustainable development followed by the Red Sea Development Company. The sustainable measures taken include strict control of the movement of any soil and sediment as a result of foundation construction activities, through multiple strategically placed watch buoys to alert when any surges and changes occur on the surface. Karaberis added: “The bridge is not only a transit point, but it will provide an exciting and exciting journey for passersby looking to explore the wonders of the Red Sea coast in Saudi Arabia for the first time.”
Shararah Island is one of 22 islands selected for development in an archipelago of more than 90 islands. The stunning design concept of Coral Bloom, created by pioneering British firm Foster & Partners, was recently revealed. It is based on highlighting the charming landscapes of the island, as well as focusing on the concept of biodiversity and the hotels sprawled among the sand dunes.
It is noteworthy that the Red Sea project has reached important stages in the development work, and work is in full swing to receive guests by the end of 2022 with the opening of the international airport and the first group of hotels. All 16 hotels planned in the first phase will open by the end of 2023.
The Red Sea project, when completed in 2030, will consist of 50 hotels providing up to 8,000 hotel rooms and about 1,300 residential properties spread over 22 islands and six inland locations. The destination will also include a luxury marina, and many recreational and leisure facilities.
