M. Al-Jubeir: The initiative aims to improve and beautify 70 homes in Al-Dawasir neighborhood

Beth: His Excellency the Mayor of the Eastern Region, Eng. Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Jubeir, launched today, Wednesday, 02/06/2021 AD, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for Developmental Housing, Eng. Ahmed Al-Qarawi, the “Ammar Saudi” initiative, which is supervised by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing. In Al-Dawasir neighborhood in Dammam, which aims to improve and beautify the neighborhood within the quality of life programs, promote the culture of volunteering, and activate the role of volunteers and related associations.

His Excellency toured the improved area in Al-Dawasir neighborhood in Dammam, which is located on King Abdul Aziz Road, which was carried out by a number of male and female volunteers, with the participation of associations specialized in housing development, and in the presence of the Undersecretary for Services, Eng. Ziad Mughabel, and the ministry team supervising the initiative, where they listened to a detailed explanation About the works carried out in this neighborhood of improvement and beautification, then the mayor of the eastern region and the Undersecretary for Developmental Housing participated in the ongoing improvement and beautification work, which included home improvement works, road lighting, landscaping and some various maintenance works in the neighborhood. Volunteers, associations, individuals and the people of the neighborhood, as well as the Secretariat team and the Ministry who supervised the implementation of the "Ammar Al Sharqiah" initiative, stressing that this is the first stage in implementing this initiative in this neighborhood, and there are stages to follow, God willing, and the Municipality is now coordinating with the Ministry to study neighborhoods Popularity in the area in which the initiative will be implemented during the next few period, pointing out that the number of houses that have been rehabilitated in Al-Dawasir neighborhood in the country Mam, in its first phase, reached 40 houses, and the target is 70 houses, in this neighborhood, and it is expected to be completed within the next few days, indicating that the Saudi Ammar initiative was launched under the supervision of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, with the participation of 250 male and female volunteers who contributed with the Municipality in implementing improvement and beautification works. This initiative also aims to enhance the quality of life aspect, which is one of the programs to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030, as well as to spread the culture of volunteering.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs for Developmental Housing, Engineer Ahmed Al-Qarawi, stated: The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, represented by the Ministry’s Agency for Developmental Housing, and has been implemented so far in 6 regions in the Kingdom, as it targets 17 regions in the Kingdom, specifically the popular neighborhoods. To revive the initiative, which is based on the development and rehabilitation of popular areas in the Kingdom, noting that Al-Dawasir neighborhood in Dammam was identified as a vital and popular site, and one of the old neighborhoods in Dammam.

He stressed that the initiative aims to activate community participation and enhance volunteer work by spreading the culture of housing volunteer work, pointing out that the initiative will include a series of qualitative volunteer programs that will be implemented in various fields, which start with the establishment of volunteer centers in 17 governorates with different teams. Which will have an impact on achieving the goals of volunteering in the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, by encouraging and motivating the youth of the country to volunteer work, spreading and strengthening the culture of housing volunteering and providing community services by attracting volunteers to disseminate and enhance the concepts of a culture of specialized volunteering among members of the community, in addition to Designing and building volunteer opportunities to contribute to serving the country.

The Secretary of Al Sharqiya explained during the meeting that the initiative is based on motivating many young men and women of the country to volunteer in providing housing services with the Ministry; To rehabilitate the housing that it supervises, pointing out that this initiative is one of the most important goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, indicating that it is the duty of all members of society to be active and interactive elements in the service of their country, and participants in achieving this ambitious vision that will move our dear country to a wider space. of growth, economy and prosperity.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for Developmental Housing, Eng. Ahmed Al-Qarawi, valued the efforts made by the Eastern Province Municipality in all areas, including with regard to social responsibility, whether in implementing the Saudi Ammar initiative in Al-Dawasir neighborhood in Dammam, or other various qualitative and institutional initiatives implemented by the Secretariat.
