The idea of ​​Qiddiya is to build a place that generates opportunities and devotes values ​​by providing entertainment, sports and the arts, which would contribute to providing a more active, healthy and happy lifestyle for the Kingdom’s aspiring youth and its people who want more progress and development, and in line with the basic principles of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, which is A master plan that guides the march of social and economic progress in the Kingdom over the next decade.

He explained that as work continues on building design, the initial construction and infrastructure work has begun to help achieve the timeline for the comprehensive implementation process over a period of 4 years, with the main opening scheduled for early 2023, indicating that a “global design exploration” has recently been launched with a group Of the famous architects from different parts of the world.

For his part, the chief administrator of the Qiddiya Investment Company, Faisal Al-Muaither, said that 20 companies are participating in the designs of the largest project of its kind near Riyadh.

He expected that the mega project will provide about 25 thousand jobs by 2030 and contribute to increasing Saudi Arabia’s GDP by about 17 billion riyals, “in addition to its implications for the economic and social aspects of job creation and support in the fields of entertainment, hospitality and science, and it will have a social impact on developing human energies.” .

The Qiddiya site is divided by the majestic Tuwaiq cliff, where the upper plateau, which extends to the edge of the vertical cliff, overlooks from a height of 200 meters on a desert land below that extends in the form of “bays” in an open area bordered by the edges of the cliff.

This place was designed to be a reflection of the pattern of the natural fungal environment that has been engraved in the earth over thousands of years, which left its impact on the physical and cultural reality that defined the identity of the place, by creating a new pattern to take advantage of this land in a way that respects and enhances the history of its natural topography, by following the path The natural water across the site and the creation of the main pattern of the project structure, a green axis that extends across the site and includes green spaces and wonderful parks.

All basic transportation systems, utility systems, infrastructure, and open space networks will be built according to the green axis system, and this axis in Qiddiya will represent a sharp contrast with the lands surrounding the project.

The Qiddiya Investment Company completed the development of the general plan for the Qiddiya project, which consists of five main development areas, namely: the entertainment resort area, the city center area, the nature area, the action and excitement area, the golf and the residential area, thus becoming the “capital of entertainment, sports and arts” and each area is characterized by specific elements, They are integrated with the rest of the system elements in a manner that reflects the environmental ideals and objectives of the project as a whole. What distinguishes all these elements is the extent of their integration with each other.

The “Sports and Health” zone will also be created for those aspiring to develop their skills and enhance their physical fitness through sporting facilities and activities. Many of the skills they gain from sport will be devoted to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, and in building the heroes of the Kingdom’s tomorrow.

For pedestrian areas to be comfortable and enjoyable, as pedestrian paths are defined and clear, interspersed with attractive and eye-catching landmarks and scenes.

All five regions are distinguished by different aspects, but this does not mean that they are separate geographical areas, as the basic elements that each of them contain are part of the basic elements of the project and embody the basic ideas on which Qiddiya is based, and the project areas are connected with each other through a group of advanced transportation or Walking lanes, cycling paths, buses, or self-driving vehicles.

The first phase of the project will include a city for recreational games, “6 Flags Qiddiya”, which is a family entertainment city that provides fun and entertainment activities distributed over six designated areas, while the second fenced entertainment destination is a water park that provides a variety of rides and innovative recreational facilities. It also includes an integrated hotel resort where you can continue to enjoy inside the park throughout the day.

Speed ​​circuit

International motorsports events and events will be held in the third landmark, the “Speed ​​Circuit”, where the spectator and the driver alike will enjoy. It includes tracks, showrooms, retail stores, a drivers club and a luxury hotel. The city center overlooks the entertainment resort from a height of 200 meters, and is connected to the entertainment resort below. By a funicular system, and it includes residential, commercial and retail complexes built around two cross-linked pedestrian corridors linking a wide range of distinctive facilities, and it is a village dedicated to sports and arts and operates throughout the day, seven days a week, where it is possible to live, work and spend enjoyable times.

The city center includes residential units and offices within an environment that focuses on the fields of creativity, hospitality and sports that form the basis of the idea of ​​Qiddiya. It is a mixed-use village overlooking wonderful panoramic scenes that combine the entertainment resort at the bottom and both the “action and excitement” area and the “nature” area in both directions.
