Al-Qatif municipality completes the ring road project in North Tarout
The cost is 30 million riyals, and it is included in the municipality’s plan to facilitate traffic movement and develop hub roads in the governorate
Broadcast: Today, Friday, May 28, 2021, the municipality of Al-Qatif Governorate has completed the works of the Ring Road project in North Tarut, which is part of the municipality’s strategic plan to facilitate traffic movement and develop the central roads in the governorate.
The mayor of Al-Qatif Governorate, Eng. Muhammad bin Abdul-Mohsen Al-Husseini, explained that the road is 3 km long and 60 m wide, and its cost amounted to 30 million riyals, which included the work of leveling, asphalt, rain drainage, lighting and sidewalks, pointing out that the road comes within the municipality’s plan to develop the infrastructure in an advanced and sustainable manner. Which contributes to pushing the development process and meeting current and future growth.
He stressed that the municipality is working to accelerate the pace of business and open roads and intersections in it, as it is one of the important developmental roads that will contribute to the flow of traffic movement for residents and visitors to the governorate and to strengthen the linkage axes with North Nazareth Street in addition to serving existing and future development and tourism projects, explaining the importance of the ring road north Tarot as a main pivot road crossing the governorate center and a road that has access to many service and entertainment sites, which forms a model for the pivot roads in the governorate, considering the road development project as one of the largest and most important infrastructure projects that the municipality has accomplished and is part of achieving its strategic priorities in line with the goals of Vision 2030 Related to the development of an integrated and modern road network that meets the needs of the province now and in the future.
Al-Husseini added that the new road constitutes a strategic artery, which would provide additional capacity in the transmission of traffic movement for vehicles, especially during peak hours, so that it would act as an alternative to Uhud road, and would contribute to enhancing traffic safety in addition to reducing congestion pressure and reducing accidents, as well as providing an entrance New to Tarut and Dareen islands.
He stressed that the municipality is working in partnership with the competent authorities to study the needs of the region to implement vital development projects that serve the Qatif Governorate and contribute to the development of municipal services provided to citizens and residents.
