According to the data of the General Authority for Statistics, non-oil exports recorded an increase of 23.1% in the first quarter of 2021 AD compared to the first quarter of 2020 AD, as they recorded 59.9 billion riyals, compared to 48.7 billion riyals during the first quarter of 2020 AD, and the proportion of non-oil exports out of total exports increased from 25.4% in the first quarter of 2020 to 28.2% in the first quarter of 2021.

With a value of 137.7 billion riyals in the first quarter of 2021, compared to 132.3 billion riyals in the first quarter of 2020; This is due to the decrease in most sectors compared to the first quarter of 2020 AD, and the most important commodities, machinery, appliances, electrical equipment and parts thereof, which represent 20.1% of total imports, increased by 3.7%, followed by transport equipment and parts thereof, which represent 16.4% of total imports, decreased by 3.7%. 5.7% over the first quarter of 2020 AD, and the value of imports increased compared to the previous quarter, the fourth quarter of 2020 AD, by 0.5 billion riyals, or + 0.3%.
The ratio of non-oil exports to imports increased to 43.5% in the first quarter of 2021, compared to 36.8% in the first quarter of 2020. This is a result of the high rise in non-oil exports of 23.1% compared to the increase in imports of 4.0% during this period.
