Biden directs the intelligence services to conduct an investigation to find out the origin of the Corona virus
US President Joe Biden announced that he had asked the intelligence services to double their efforts to reach a final conclusion about the origin of the Corona virus.
Biden said in a statement: "I have now asked intelligence to double their efforts to collect and analyze information that can bring us closer to reaching a final conclusion about the origin of the Corona virus, and to report to me within 90 days."
He added: "Soon after assuming the presidency, in March, I commissioned my National Security Adviser to prepare a report on the latest intelligence analyzes of the origins of the virus, including whether it arose from human contact with an infected animal or from an accident in a laboratory." .
He continued: "Intelligence tends towards two scenarios regarding the origin of the virus (if it was caused by human contact with an infected animal, or an accident in a laboratory), but he did not reach a final conclusion on this matter."
He pointed out that "he requested that specific questions be directed to China, and that he asked the intelligence to keep Congress fully informed of his work."
"The United States will continue to work with its partners around the world to pressure China to participate in a full, transparent and evidence-based international investigation, to provide access to all data and evidence about the origins of the virus," he added.
