Eastern Municipality: Executing four pedestrian bridges in metropolitan Dammam
Beth: The Eastern Province Municipality revealed that it has recently completed the implementation of four pedestrian bridges in the metropolis of Dammam, which are part of its plan to implement pedestrian bridges in the region, with the aim of serving transients, reducing the number of accidents and improving safety.
The spokesman for the Eastern Region Municipality, Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Sufyan, stated that the bridges that were completed included King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road in Dammam, the Gulf Road in Dammam, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Road in Al-Khobar, in addition to the fourth bridge on Prince Muhammad bin Road Fahad in Dammam, which was done in partnership with the private sector, where all these bridges were established in front of the large commercial complexes in order to preserve the safety of everyone.
Al-Sufyan indicated that the Municipality is currently implementing the final stages of a pedestrian bridge on King Khalid bin Abdulaziz Road to connect the Khuzama neighborhood to the Al-Jisr neighborhood with Azizia in Khobar, which will be completed and put into service during the coming period, so that the number of pedestrian bridges executed in Dammam metropolis is 18 bridges. The spokesperson of the Eastern Region Secretariat pointed out that it is also taken into account that bridges and crossings are at the sites of black points for trampling accidents and their conformity with engineering standards, with the availability of elevators for use by the elderly and people with disabilities, and the presence of a middle island for the road equipped with high iron barriers to prevent violators from crossing.
