The Saudi Public Prosecution announced that deliberately transmitting Corona infection is one of the crimes that arise by simply exposing the protected interest in the public health system to the risk of transmitting the infection.
The prosecution asserted that "harm is not required for this, as they are non-material crimes, and it performs the possibility of the occurrence of danger in addition to achieving the damage."
And she declared, "The crime of intentionally transmitting Corona virus infection to others deserves punishment," explaining that "anyone who intends to transmit Corona infection to others, without prejudice to any other legally prescribed penalties or regulations."
She added, "The law punishes imprisonment for up to 5 years, a fine of up to 500 thousand riyals, and deportation of the convicted resident from the Kingdom and preventing him from entering it permanently, and the penalties are doubled if the crime is repeated.
It indicated that "in addition to this, special right penalties shall be added, which vary according to the gravity of the crime and the harm resulting from it."
