The launch of the first race of the "Extreme E" series in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia

Al-Ula - Al-Ula Governorate is witnessing the first race in the "Extreme E" series of electric SUVs, organized by the Ministry of Sports in cooperation with the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, and will be held over two days 3-4 April 2021, with the participation of 9 international teams and 18 drivers and drivers.

Team "X44" led the first day of the race.

Team X44, led by veteran Frenchman Sebastian Loeb and driver Christina Gutierrez, managed to achieve a record time and end the first day of the race in the lead.

"Extreme E" is a new racing series in which electric cars compete in destinations affected by climate change around the world, and encourage reliance on electric vehicles in pursuit of a better future for the planet. The inaugural 2021 season will be held in 5 different regions across 4 continents. Each destination to shed light on a different environmental issue, in Saudi Arabia, "Al-Ula", "Dakar - Senegal", "Greenland", "Amazon - Brazil", "Patagonia - Argentina".


 The race organizing committee equipped an integrated media center to enable media representatives to cover the race’s events and start the qualifying stages, follow them directly, and broadcast news and reports simultaneously and through news bulletins reports about the race.

The Media Center allows broadcasting of the stages and events of the race, which began today, directly to 180 countries through 90 local, Arab and international sports and news channels from the countries of the Middle East, Europe, Asia, North America, Latin America and Africa.
