The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, announced the launch of the “Made in Saudi Arabia” program, which comes under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister The Minister of Defense - may God protect him - in an initiative aimed at supporting national products and services at the local and global levels.

The launch of the program comes out of the concern and keenness of His Highness the Crown Prince in the national industry, and the unlimited support he provides for the national product, to enhance its role in light of the high quality and competitiveness of national products at the regional and global level, in addition to an emphasis on increasing awareness and confidence in the national product. And the local industry at various levels.

His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources emphasized, during a hypothetical event, that the “Made in Saudi” program aims to promote a “culture of loyalty to the national product”, as it was designed based on a study of the experiences of a number of countries that have achieved qualitative successes in developing their industrial capabilities. Its citizens instilled a spirit of loyalty to the national product, giving it priority, which contributed to the localization of industries and the achievement of self-sufficiency at various levels.

His Excellency explained that His Highness the Crown Prince carries great aspirations towards this important program, which is a program for all Saudis, given its great importance in changing the stereotype of the Kingdom, from being a country that relies heavily on oil for its exports to a large national market that includes a mixture of products. And the multiple brands that will contribute to enriching the local industry and raising the proportion of exports.

He said: Creating an industrial identity that we are proud of in front of the world was an ambitious national project in which the efforts of a number of government and private agencies joined forces, to make this identity - God Almighty’s will - one of the main pillars for the Kingdom to become a pioneering industrial power, under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect them.

Al-Khorayef indicated that trust in the national product has become an urgent necessity today, given the great economic implications it represents in stimulating local investments, attracting foreign investments, creating job opportunities, enhancing export capacity, improving the balance of payments, in addition to its great impact on expanding the state’s economic base. And increase the gross domestic product.

His Excellency affirmed that the “Made in Saudi Arabia” program will provide a wide range of benefits and opportunities for member companies, with the aim of expanding their scope of work and promoting their products locally and internationally. They can use the program’s slogan “Saudi Industry” on their products that meet the program’s criteria to ensure our commitment to the recognized quality. He pointed out that the program will enhance the spirit of national solidarity to support national facilities for the benefit of the sons and daughters of the nation.
