RIYADH - The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, affirmed that "the failed Houthi targeting attempts are targeting the nerve center of the global economy."

Prince Faisal bin Farhan said during a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Riyadh on Wednesday: "We renew our support to reach a political solution to the crisis in Yemen."

He also stressed that "there must be a firm international stand against the Houthi attacks," noting that "there is widespread international condemnation of the attack on the port of Ras Tanura."

In addition, he added, "the priority in Yemen is to reach a comprehensive cease-fire," stressing that "the coalition stopped firing unilaterally in Yemen about a year ago."

He explained that "the international community has a great responsibility to pressure the Houthis."

Prince Faisal bin Farhan also stated that "the United Nations must extend the imposition of the arms embargo on Iran. We stress the importance of Iran not having a nuclear weapon."

In addition, he announced that Saudi Arabia values ​​its strategic alliance with Russia.

He stressed, "We will support any efforts to achieve stability in Syria."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that his country would seek to achieve stability in energy prices within the "OPEC +" group, praising the Russian-Saudi relations.

He indicated that Russia will make efforts to prevent the global economy from being affected by the increase in oil prices.
