The Kingdom donated $ 430 million to fund the humanitarian response plan to support Yemen for the year 2021
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has donated $ 430 million to fund the humanitarian response plan announced by the United Nations to support Yemen for the year 2021 AD.
This came during the participation of His Excellency today, a representative of the Kingdom, in the donors’ conference for Yemen for the year 2021 AD under the auspices of the United Nations, the Republic of Switzerland and the Kingdom of Sweden, which was held via video call in New York City, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
Dr. Al-Rabiah delivered the Kingdom’s speech at the conference in which he expressed Saudi Arabia’s thanks and deep appreciation to the Republic of Switzerland, the Kingdom of Sweden and the United Nations for their keenness to organize this hypothetical conference in these exceptional circumstances that the world is going through as a result of the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic and its mutated strains, hoping to reach More sustainable and deeper impact solutions; To lift human suffering in Yemen and deal with its causes.
He said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been based, since its establishment by King Abdulaziz Al Saud, on a set of values, principles and constants in its dealings and relations with the peoples of the world. It was mentioned that the aid provided by the Kingdom to Yemen during 5 years amounted to 17 billion and 300 thousand dollars, which included the support of the Central Bank of Yemen with an amount of 2 billion US dollars, in addition to assistance provided to the Yemeni brothers inside the Kingdom of 8 billion and 133 million dollars, and aid to the Yemeni government in the amount of 199 million $ 296 million and 742 thousand dollars in aid in development fields, in addition to providing $ 3 billion and 500 million through the center, including various projects and programs, which amounted to 575 projects until last February.
