The launch of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights
Beth: The President of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, launched, today, Monday, the Arab Observatory for Human Rights as an Arab mechanism to monitor and document the human rights situation in the Arab countries, stressing the Arab Parliament’s complete rejection of what was contained in the politicized and erroneous data and reports recently issued by some parties and organizations regarding the situation Human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Algeria, stressing at the time that the Arab Parliament is not against evaluating the human rights system in the Arab countries, but rather against the suspicious approach that relies on the politicization of the human rights file and its use as a political tool for pressure and blackmail.
This took place while presiding over the work of the third session of the Arab Parliament, in the presence of Counselor Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Reynold Lopatka, Head of the High Level Advisory Group on Combating Terrorism at the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The President of the Arab Parliament reviewed the positive developments in the Arab region during the recent period that give rise to optimism and hope, appreciating the outcomes of the Al-Ula summit and the positions and decisions it contained that rise to the level of challenges facing the Arab region, praising the sincere efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to make this summit a success and its role. The global pioneer led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Al-Asoumi declared that the Arab Parliament welcomed and supported the new government of political competencies that was formed in the Republic of Yemen, calling on the international community to take a firm stance to stop the terrorist crimes committed by the Houthi coup militia.
Al-Asoumi also welcomed the setting of dates for holding the Palestinian legislative and presidential elections, as an important step towards unifying the word of the Palestinian brothers. He highly valued the outcomes of the Palestinian factions dialogue that Cairo recently hosted.
He also welcomed the results of the Libyan executive authority elections and the formation of the new Sudanese government, the removal of Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism, and the call by the President of the Republic of Somalia to hold a national dialogue to enhance security and stability, and to set the date for early elections in the Republic of Iraq, as well as support the Arab Parliament to form a new government. In the Republic of Lebanon, the aspirations of the Lebanese people are met for development and stability.
Al-Asoumi emphasized that the success of the Hope probe launched by the United Arab Emirates represents pride for all Arabs.
