The head of the Political Committee of the Arab Parliament warns of the systematic targeting of the Kingdom of Bahrain
Beth: The Chairman of the Political and National Security Committee in the Arab Parliament, Dr. Dhafer Al-Ani, condemned the statement issued by Amnesty International about the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is full of fallacies, lies and allegations about the reality of human rights in the Kingdom, considering that it denotes a systematic targeting to deliberately distort the facts, while ignoring In it, the broad reform developments that the Kingdom of Bahrain has witnessed in the field of human rights and the consolidation of democracy, in addition to its membership in most international conventions dealing with civil and political rights.
Dr. Al-Ani wondered about the real motives for the statement in its content to go back to the events of 2011 AD and the movement of demonstrations and acts of violence and sabotage that the Kingdom witnessed, as His Majesty the King at the time initiated the formation of a fact-finding committee that included international experts, and the Bahraini authorities committed themselves to implement the recommendations issued by them with all transparency.
Dr. Al-Ani considered that the human rights organization in its statement touched on cases in which the Bahraini judicial institutions said their final word, which are institutions known for their integrity and independence, considered an unacceptable interference in the work of the Bahraini national judiciary and in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Ani added that Amnesty International's statement lacks objectivity, impartiality and professionalism completely, because its authors did not communicate with the concerned authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain to find out the facts and extract them from their reliable national sources.
Rather, they relied on their misleading information on perverted and prejudiced parties linked to terrorism and acts of violence and have their external links with hostile countries and organizations known to target Bahrain's national security, which makes us question the goals behind the statement.
Dr. Dhafer explained that the organization’s statement also lacked the objective standards issued by the United Nations regarding the principles of non-governmental organizations in their work to search for information and prepare data and reports, which should aim to encourage countries to continue the process of building and progress, not to offend their achievements and mislead them.
Dr. Dhafer Al-Ani called on Amnesty International to observe accuracy and impartiality in the data and reports it issues in the future, and to refrain from distortion and intentional targeting of countries to achieve goals and objectives far from protecting human rights.
