The Saudi General Grain Corporation floats a tender to import 480,000 tons of barley
The General Grain Corporation announced the launch of a tender to import 480,000 tons of fodder barley for supply during the period (March - April 2021 AD), in order to boost stocks at a time when the transfer of the file for importing and selling barley to the private sector is being completed.
His Excellency the Governor of the General Organization for Grains, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, explained that the quantity offered is distributed to (8) ships, by (6) ships for the Kingdom's ports on the Red Sea, with an amount of 360 thousand tons, and two ships to the Kingdom's ports on the Arabian Gulf, with an amount of 120 thousand tons.
His Excellency indicated that the corporation, through the "Import" platform, has completed the qualification procedures for (9) companies from the private sector companies specialized in the trade of barley and has stations that meet the technical conditions for the practice of importing and trading barley in addition to the feed factories, while (5) companies are currently completing and fulfilling documents and conditions. Qualification, indicating that all import applications submitted by qualified companies have been approved.
The esteemed Cabinet had agreed to entrust the task of importing and selling barley to the private sector, within the framework of the state’s direction - may God protect it - towards increasing the private sector’s contributions to the Saudi economy and opening new areas for it to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
