Washington has refused the United Nations request to withdraw its designation of the terrorist Houthi militia affiliated with Iran as a terrorist organization, and announced its adherence to its decision while establishing mechanisms that mitigate the impact of this classification on the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

Richard Mills, the US representative to the United Nations, told the UN Security Council that his country has seen the warnings about the humanitarian repercussions of its decision on the Houthi group and will take measures to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid and commercial imports to Yemen.
