Saudi Arabia intends to hold the Dakar Rally of the Future in 2030 with cars and trucks based on clean energy; Based on the principle of environmental sustainability and preservation of natural resources.

This was revealed by the Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, in a press conference after the ninth stage of the Saudi Dakar Rally 2021 in NEOM, in order to share Dakar’s vision aimed at promoting environmentally friendly innovation in the world of rallying.

This project is fully in line with the revolutionary project “The Line”, which was unveiled in NEOM on the tenth of January, as it will be a city with a population of one million people and an area of ​​170 km that preserves 95% of the nature inside Neom.
