Today, Monday morning, showers of snow fell on the Balsamer Center, located 110 kilometers north of the city of Abha in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a rare and unprecedented event.

Balsammar and large parts of the Asir region are still affected by a state of atmospheric instability, which is accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures, close to zero degrees Celsius, which led to snowfall.

The Saudi National Meteorological Center had warned of the current winter, stressing that it would be the coldest season in the Kingdom.

In its report, which is based on an analysis of historical climate data and the outputs of climate forecast models, the center expected that precipitation will be less than normal in most regions of the Kingdom.

He added that surface temperatures are expected to be higher than normal in the west, northwest, north and east of the Kingdom at a rate of up to (+1) in the northwest.
