Today, Thursday, the US Congress officially confirmed Biden’s victory in the presidential elections with a majority of 306 of the electoral college votes, compared to 232 votes for outgoing President Donald Trump.

Vice President Mike Pence announced that Congress approved the results of the electoral college votes, paving the way for Biden to take over the presidency on January 20.

US President Donald Trump said in a statement today that “even if he violates the election result, there will be an orderly transfer of power on January 20.”

“Although I completely disagree with the election result, and the facts confirm this, there will be an orderly transfer of power on January 20,” Trump said in a statement.

He added, “I have always said that we will continue our battle to ensure that only legal votes are counted ... While this marks the end of the greatest term in the history of the presidency, it is only the beginning of our battle to make America great again.”

Trump’s statement came after the US Congress formally approved the victory of Democrat Joe Biden in the presidential election that took place on the third of last November.
