Launching a filmmaking program in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Film Authority is preparing to launch the Digital Filmmaker Program, which will provide professionals and amateurs with educational and training opportunities in various filmmaking specialties, in cooperation with the most important international and local universities and film institutes.

Through the program, the authority seeks to provide local cinematic talents with knowledge resources that contribute to improving the environment for Saudi filmmaking and raise its standards towards higher professional levels.

In its first phase, the program includes various tracks across three prestigious educational institutions, namely the British Institute of Filmmaking (BFI), the School of Motion Picture Arts at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles (USC), and the Institute for Creative Media Skills (CMS) at Ben Wood Studios in Britain, which include 21 training programs in production. Script writing, animation, directing, sound engineering, visual effects, post-production, and other filmmaking majors.

The Film Commission will start receiving applications for registration in the program from all those wishing to have local talents specializing in filmmaking, whether professional or amateurs, starting Friday January 1, 2021, through the online platform.

Provided that the names of the participants are specified according to the terms and conditions on the online platform.
