Make the manuscripts of King Fahd Library available to beneficiaries and researchers via an electronic platform

The Libraries Authority signed a hosting memorandum with the King Fahd National Library in Riyadh, during which the library would make a group of digitized manuscripts available through a unified electronic platform for manuscripts in the Kingdom, and the memorandum was signed today at the authority’s headquarters in Riyadh. The Libraries Authority was represented in the signature by the CEO, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Nasser Al-Asem, while the King Fahd National Library was represented by the Acting Secretary-General Suleiman bin Yusef Al-Masoud.

This memorandum comes within the framework of the “Digitization and Access to Manuscripts” project launched by the Libraries Authority with the aim of building bridges of cooperation with libraries and individuals who own original manuscripts, making digital copies of them and making them available to beneficiaries through a unified electronic platform, and creating and preserving an information base on manuscripts native to the Kingdom.

The Libraries Authority seeks from the project to provide an inclusive platform for manuscripts in the Kingdom, serving researchers and supporting the research climate by opening official windows to access the information contained in the manuscripts, through the electronic platform.
