The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has succeeded in registering "Sadu weaving" on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

Sadu weaving is the eighth cultural element that the Kingdom has succeeded in registering with UNESCO, as part of its efforts to document the intangible national heritage, and to shed light on it locally and internationally in a way that enhances its chances of continuation and ensuring its sustainability across generations.

Sadu weaving is one of the creative traditional craftsmanship that the inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula practiced since ancient times to meet the basic needs of society, and it has become one of the most important aspects and images of the human heritage in the Kingdom with its various designs, decorations and colors. As an expression of this cultural importance, "Sadu" was used in designing the logo for the G20 summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this year.
