Makkah Al-Mukarramah .. Rescue of a patient with a hybrid operation
An integrative medical team from several departments including 15 doctors and technicians at King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah was able to use hybrid surgery to save the life of a patient suffering from multiple problems represented in narrowing of the coronary arteries, regurgitation of the aorta, and expansion of the entire aorta from the heart to the middle the chest .
After completing the necessary tests and CT scans, a surgery was performed to connect the arteries to the heart, change the aortic valve, and make a change to the entire aortic arch after stopping the heart muscle completely, and using the perfusion device to replace the heart, then the vascular surgery team performed a repair of the aorta using the interventional radiology technique.
The operation was successful and the patient recovered, and she was discharged from the hospital in good health and is followed up through the specialized clinics.
