The Saudi Ministry of Industry: 151 factories began production ... and licenses for 77 new factories during November
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources revealed in its indicators report for last November that 151 factories started production operations, an increase of 387% compared to last October, as this growth contributed to an increase in the volume of licensed investment for factories that started production, as it reached 8,370 billion Saudi riyals, an increase of 119% Compared to October 2020, adding that 77 new factories were licensed during the same month.
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Revolution stated in a press statement that the total number of existing industrial establishments and under construction until the end of last November reached 9,630, compared to 9,563 in October, and the volume of investment for new industrial licenses in November witnessed a growth of 38% compared to last October. It reached more than 2 billion Saudi riyals, and the industrial sector contributed in November to creating 2,441 jobs, of which the Saudis accounted for 1,114 jobs.
The monthly report detailed the industrial activities in the sector, the number of which reached 9630 factories at the end of last November, including 1069 factories for food products, 1259 factories for rubber products, in addition to 1436 factories for other activities, as well as 1162 factories for formed metal products except for machinery and equipment, and the number of factories for products. Other non-metallic minerals are 1930 factories, and the number of factories for paper and its products is 358 factories, in addition to 322 factories for electrical equipment, as well as 322 factories for non-classified machines, in addition to metal factories of 471 factories, while the number of chemical factories reached 949 factories, 352 factories specialized in Furniture Industry.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issues on a monthly basis the industrial sector indicators, which show the total number of factories in the Kingdom, the volume of industrial investments, as well as the jobs created by the sector. Expatriate industrial establishments, where the sector witnessed a significant growth in the number of industrial establishments and the volume of investment in them, and was able to create about 35,000 jobs, with a localization rate of 40%.
