Alstom of France signs a contract with the royal commission for Alula governorate to establish the Alula tram project for 500 million euros

The French company Alstom signed a contract with the royal commission for the governorate of Alula for the construction of the "Alula tram" project worth more than 500 million euros.
The company said in a statement that the Alstom system will include 20 advanced battery-powered CITADISB trams, and the 22.4-kilometer line will be the longest cable-free line in the world, connecting 17 strategically located stations to ensure smooth access to the five main historical areas of Alula, including UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the Old City of Alula (Region 1), Dadan (Region 2), Mount Ekma (Region 3), Nabataean theater (Region 4), and the historical city of al Hajar (Region 5).

The company stated that it will provide power supply, signaling, communications, warehouse equipment and provide full maintenance of the tram for 10 years.
