The Saudi Public Investment Fund announced the establishment of the company "Dan", specialized in the development of rural and environmental tourism projects in the kingdom.

The company intends to develop outstanding tourism projects in several cities with unique natural and agricultural components.

"Dan" aims to involve local communities in providing experiences that allow visitors to interact directly and harmonize with the distinctive cultural values of various regions of the kingdom, arts, crafts, cuisine and local traditional Saudi products.rural tourism is also concerned with providing distinctive experiences related to traditional agriculture, while ecotourism is concerned with providing natural experiences and reducing environmental impact.

In the framework of supporting and empowering local communities, the company will also provide visitors to destinations from the Kingdom and abroad with quality experiences through granting commercial concessions to owners of local farms and rural hostels, while providing training programs designed to enhance their competencies and abilities and enable them to launch and manage their projects, and "Dan" will provide many investment opportunities for the private sector with the aim of creating direct and indirect job opportunities.

The company will launch its first projects in Al-Ahsa governorate, and the land area allocated for the project reaches about 1.8 million square meters, and includes three resorts, namely "agricultural resort","ecological resort" and"adventure resort", each of which simulates a distinctive pattern of specialized tourism styles, in order to provide exceptional tourist experiences and services to suit different visitors.

The "agricultural resort" focuses on celebrating the agricultural character of the Al-Ahsa region, famous for its production of dates and distinctive types of Hassawi rice, and offers many experiences to connect with nature and the land by participating in seasonal farming, harvesting crops, in addition to cooking from the resort's natural products, which enhances the concept of serving local food "from farm to table".

The "ecological" and"recreational" resorts offer unique experiences to connect with nature and the surrounding areas, as the company will use natural materials with a low carbon footprint in the construction of the" ecological resort", taking into account the highest specifications of sustainability and wildlife protection, while the" adventure resort " specializes in environmentally friendly recreational experiences, such as horseback riding and stargazing, in addition to climbing the neighboring rocky heights and other activities.

It is expected that the company's contribution to supporting non-oil GDP until 2030 will amount to about 6 billion riyals, in conjunction with the launch of new destinations in regions and cities around the kingdom. The company's projects will contribute to achieving the goals of the kingdom's Vision 2030 by diversifying the economy and increasing the contribution of city economies to GDP.
