Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan region ( southwestern Saudi Arabia), inaugurated today, Sunday, the work of awarding 53 projects for basic and transformational industries 2023 "Rawasi".
At a cost of more than 9 billion riyals.
Minister of industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim al-khorayef said in his speech that "Jazan city for basic and manufacturing industries plays an active role in achieving industrial development in the region, and its impact extends to various economic sectors, in addition to maximizing the impact on all regions of the south of the kingdom in order to enhance the utilization of local resources and provide quality job opportunities".
Khalid bin Mohammed Al Salem, chairman of the royal commission for Jubail and Yanbu, said that "53 capital projects were presented to those interested in the field of contracting, construction and infrastructure, and then 30 tourism agreements were signed at the masarib Forum, which aims to link the industry with tourism and align the ambitious targets of Vision 2030".
He said: "recently yesterday we witnessed the signing of a package of investment agreements at the Jazan investment forum for more than 30 billion riyals, which will provide at least 7 thousand jobs, and today we celebrate what we started at the Sadam forum with the completion of the works of awarding the 53 Rawasi capital projects.
Engineer Al Salem pointed out that "the royal commission is working to make young Saudis the ideal choice for investors and entrepreneurs by preparing them for the labor market through the Jazan City Academy for manufacturing industries, which will be opened in the coming days, to have a direct impact on the employment of at least 2,000 young men and women annually".
After that, the Emir of Jazan and the attendees watched a presentation of the projects that have been completed and are divided into three main portfolios .. "The support services portfolio includes 11 projects, which will contribute to enhancing the city's environmental sustainability efforts, and provide contracts for studies of the Indicative Plan for the eastern and Southern Expansion of the city with a total area exceeding 152 square kilometers.
The "infrastructure and roads portfolio", which contains 24 projects, will contribute to the development of the infrastructure of the industrial zone and the Special Economic Zone by about 11.5 square kilometers, the residential area and the city center by about 4 square kilometers, the development of the construction of a road network in the city by more than ١٩ a kilometer to serve all areas of the city, the construction of electrical distribution stations and networks with a capacity of 1.5 GVA, and stations and networks of cooling channels with sea water with a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters per hour with a length of 10 km extending to and from the sea.
The number of Housing and utilities portfolio projects reached 18 projects, with a total cost exceeding 3 billion riyals.the outputs of the portfolio projects were the creation of residential units "villas, apartments"to serve the residents of the city in various categories, a number of public facilities contributing to raising the quality of life in the city such as educational facilities, Business Center for government agencies, Cultural Center, and a number of other facilities that will contribute to the management and operation of the city such as the building and warehouses of the General Department of operation and maintenance, the building and laboratories of the Department of Environmental Protection and control, and the fire station in the industrial zone.
