NEOM announced today, Sunday, the launch of NEOM food company #tubian, to create sustainable food systems aimed at redefining the ways of food production, distribution and consumption. "Toubyan" will be based on the development of sustainable and innovative solutions across five main pillars: climate-resilient agriculture, renewable aquaculture; innovative food, customized nutrition, sustainable food supply and environmental, social and institutional governance.
"Tubian" was launched with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Water and agriculture, as the company's launch is in line with the kingdom's goals of achieving its Vision 2030, to ensure food security, reduce the effects of climate change, and achieve climate neutrality by 2060.
Tubian represents a new innovative standard for sustainable food production by building a system aimed at mastering the "art of much with little" and creating a "new era of food" that extends from the desert.
The new concept of "the future is on the table" will introduce innovative solutions and initiatives that will revolutionize the current global food system to achieve food security.
Toubyan is working on developing the necessary technologies to build a sustainable food system at a high level to meet the global challenges resulting from high population growth, changing consumption patterns, climate change, and the depletion of natural resources, by fostering a vibrant community of scientists, experts, and innovators. NEOM CEO Nazmi Al-Nasr said: NEOM is accelerating the wheel of human development, and toubyan reflects our commitment to bring about a positive long-term transformation of life in the Kingdom and the rest of the world, pointing out that toubyan's innovative approach will be the main driver in shaping the future landscape of the sustainable and safe food industry, looking forward to working closely with investors, partners and food industry experts to turn ambitious ideas into reality, and contribute to achieving food security for future generations.
He added: as a key pillar to drive NEOM's ambitious goals and visions, toubyan is working to establish a system based on the production and supply of healthy and sustainable food solutions to the Kingdom and abroad, which will contribute to the diversification of the kingdom's economy through the development of advanced technologies that will shape the future of the food industry in line with the kingdom's Vision 2030.
For his part, toubyan CEO Dr. Juan Carlos motmayor said: as a wholly owned subsidiary of NEOM, toubyan's vision is consistent with Neom's commitment to providing high-quality food products to the markets, enhancing food security and sustainability, in addition to contributing to achieving economic goals and self-sufficiency in the Kingdom and long-term goals, adding that toubyan is leading efforts to ensure food security by creating a flexible food supply in line with the Saudi Green initiative and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
