Saudi Space Agency and Axiom Space sign memorandum to support microgravity research
The Saudi space agency has signed a memorandum of understanding with Axiom Space, a leading company in the field of manned spaceflight development, to cooperate in the fields of space and its technologies, and support microgravity research in space.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of the Saudi Space Agency, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud al-Tamimi, and the CEO of Axiom Space, Michael soverdini, in the presence of the minister of communications and Information Technology, Eng.Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, who heads the delegation of the digital economy, space and innovation system, which is making an official visit to the United States of America, in order to deepen partnerships in areas related to technology, space and innovation.
One of the most prominent areas of work for this memorandum is the study of the establishment of a Space Mission Control Center in the kingdom, which will contribute to the development of technologies and facilities related to the follow-up of space missions and scientific and educational experiments in the microgravity environment.this memorandum will also contribute to supporting research in low-Earth orbit, in an effort to develop space industries in the Kingdom and support international research and development activities in this field.
