Saudi "tourism" expands the availability of visit visas electronically to bring the number of countries to 63
The Saudi Ministry of Tourism announced the availability of a visit visa "electronically" for citizens of a new number of countries, namely: Turkey, Thailand, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles, Mauritius, either by requesting a visit visa electronically or directly upon arrival at one of the international ports of the Kingdom, bringing the number of countries to 63 countries.
In addition to citizens of 63 countries, the tourist visa is available for 7 other categories, namely residents of the United States of America, the United Kingdom or the European Union, holders of American and British visit visas, holders of "Schengen" visas, and all residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as the tourist visa allows the holder to visit the kingdom for the purposes of tourism or Umrah outside the Hajj season, visiting friends and family, attending events, exhibitions and conferences, and the kingdom also grants a transit visa to travelers via Saudi Airlines and Flynas to stay for 96 hours in the kingdom before completing the flight to their final destination.
The Ministry of Tourism launched the visit visa on September 27, 2019, as part of the ministry's efforts to provide tourists and visitors from those countries with the opportunity to explore the kingdom's destinations and huge tourist potential, participate in tourist and entertainment events, and learn about Saudi culture and its authentic traditions.
The Ministry of Tourism intends to proceed with the expansion of the electronic visit visa system to include additional countries and regions, in conjunction with the ongoing development and expansion of the infrastructure of the tourism sector in the kingdom.
