Broadcast: assistant professor at the University of California (Irvine) Dr. Faisal bin Saud Nawab confirmed that the kingdom is going through a huge technological revolution, and the kingdom's Vision 2030 is working on creating a national trend that will lead the global trend in smart city technologies.
Following his participation as a keynote speaker on "ways and mechanism to enable smart city applications using decentralized data processing technologies" at the third international conference on computing and Information Technology 2023, which is being held at Tabuk University, he said that the huge projects that the government of the kingdom is working on all over, illuminates the way to the world about what smart cities should be in the future, allowing universities the possibility of developing their scientific research due to the greater clarity of the future of the Internet of things, noting the qualitative leaps achieved by the kingdom in the field of technology, and became one of the countries referred to as Lebanon in this regard.
Nawab stressed that smart cities will provide a better life for every citizen than the current infrastructure provides, including "traffic, security and environmental factors" that are currently being dealt with by traditional methods, while smart cities with their modern and emerging technologies will change the experience for citizens and visitors, as these technologies are based on collecting data on human movements, devices that are used and vehicles, to be presented to the decision-maker, who in turn will provide services according to those accurate data, to address traffic congestion as an example, and to address many of the problems facing human life .
