A concert of the "masterpieces of the Saudi Orchestra" in New York on September 17
On Sunday, September 17, the music authority, in partnership with the theater and Performing Arts Authority, will organize a concert on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House at the Lincoln Center in New York City, USA.
The Saudi National Orchestra and choir, the Saudi performing arts ensemble, accompanied by the American jazz band Dizzy Gillespie, will pay tribute.
This concert comes as part of the Saudi orchestra's masterpieces initiative with the participation of about 80 musicians from the Saudi National Orchestra and choir, who will present a musical performance that includes playing and singing medley for a group of Saudi songs, in addition to a solo performance, and the American jazz band Dizzy Gillespie will present musical pieces in a joint performance with the Saudi National Orchestra and choir.
The concert will include the participation of the theatre and Performing Arts Authority with five performances of Saudi performing arts that reflect the cultural diversity of the kingdom; including: the art of Rabash, Liwa, majroor, Samaritan, and step, presented by 60 performers from the Saudi Performing Arts Ensemble with the participation of the Saudi National Orchestra and choir.
The participation, scheduled to be held on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York City, is the third destination of the "masterpieces of the Saudi orchestra" initiative to tour the world.. It started from the French capital Paris, then moved to Mexico City, USA, before landing in New York City, USA, in order to introduce the global community to the masterpieces of Saudi music and Performing Arts, in order to enhance international cultural exchange, which is one of the strategic goals that the Ministry of culture seeks to achieve under the umbrella of Saudi Vision 2030.
