Launch of the "Alula world Antiquities summit"
The "Alula world Antiquities summit", organized by the royal commission for Alula governorate, will start today, Wednesday, September 13, 2023, and will last for three days, with the participation of 300 government officials, heads of organizations and associations concerned with antiquities and cultural heritage, as well as scientists and specialists from the Kingdom and various countries of the world.
The "Alula world Antiquities summit" aims to become the first global platform in the cultural heritage and archeology sector, embodying the rich cultural wealth, human heritage and cultural assets forged by successive civilizations more than 200 thousand years ago, and it was a destination for travelers and explorers, and it remains today one of the most important historical exploration sites for its stored Antiquities.
More than 300 experts and interested in the field of antiquities and heritage will participate, including 80 speakers who will participate in the sessions and dialogues of the summit, as well as those concerned with the sector from governmental and non-governmental institutions, international organizations and the media.
The summit includes a number of interactive and cognitive sessions, which focus on the field of developing archaeology, discussing challenges to reach common visions, with the participation of a number of experts, opening prospects for cooperation and partnerships, and creating a space for dialogue in the fields of Archaeology and cultural heritage.
The "Alula world Antiquities summit" focuses on four themes, namely "identity, archaeological landscape, flexibility, and accessibility", where the sessions focus on the development of Archaeology, which contributes to increasing archaeological discoveries and activating them globally.
Through 30 diverse working sessions, the summit will discuss building identity in the current era and maximizing archaeological discoveries, preserving and documenting artifacts, mechanisms to benefit from artificial intelligence and its challenges, how to promote economic growth and transfer skills in the Antiquities Sector, in addition to preserving Antiquities associated with the values of society, and the role of the media in supporting cultural heritage and archaeology .
The royal commission for Alula governorate is working to build a cultural knowledge economy, where Alula's landmarks tell the history of human civilizations, and are characterized by natural beauty and qualitative human heritage, which makes it the prime target of the largest living museum in the world, and provides a unique cultural destination by taking advantage of the various available components.
