Saudi Arabia allows electronic visit visa for citizens of eight additional countries
The Saudi tourism authority has renewed its welcome to visitors from all over the world, stressing the importance of the announcement by the Ministry of tourism in cooperation with the Ministry of interior, the Ministry of foreign affairs, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and related authorities on the availability of a visit visa "electronically" to eight new countries, namely: Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, South Africa, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, bringing the total number of countries eligible for a visit visa to 57 countries.
Citizens of these countries who wish to issue a visit visa to the kingdom can visit the e-visa portal "visitsaudi.com/ar/travel-regulations" to get acquainted with all the information and facilities provided.
Visitors can also access a wealth of information about tourist destinations, inspiring experiences, historical sites, cultural, qualitative and international events through the official website of the spirit of Saudi Arabia "visitsaudi.com" which also enables the traveler to navigate the multiple options and enrich his tourist experience.
Since the launch of the visit visa in September 2019 for the purpose of Tourism, performing Umrah outside the Hajj season, or attending events, exhibitions and conferences, the kingdom has attracted millions of visitors and pushed the growth of the sector to unprecedented heights; the kingdom received 93.5 million visits in 2022, and the total tourist spending reached 185 billion riyals (49 billion US dollars), an increase of 93% compared to the previous year 2021.
It is worth mentioning that an electronic visit visa has recently been made available to holders of permanent residence in the GCC, the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom, in addition to holders of visit visas to the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Schengen area.
