It is a village community in the Georgian region of Svaneti, consisting of four small villages, in the Greater Caucasus Mountains and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, with its defensive towers. Ushguli, located at an altitude of 2086-2200 meters, is one of the highest villages in Europe. There are those who say it is the original and first habitat of the European race.
