The Saudi Fashion Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chalhoub Group represented by the Saudi Fatra International Company Ltd., with the aim of enhancing ways of joint cooperation and discussing potential opportunities in many areas of mutual interest, in the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Culture, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fashion Authority Hamed bin Muhammad Fayez, and CEO of the Fashion Authority Burak Chakmak, and General Manager of the Chalhoub Group Bashar Sabbagh.
The understandings included discussing the creation of leadership jobs for the purpose of Saudization in the fashion retail sector, and studying the provision of commercial spaces in stores, allowing Saudi designers to display their products after signing independent agreements with each designer, in addition to the group’s provision of training courses in the field of fashion, and joint cooperation through the exchange of Market information and studies to contribute to the promotion and development of work on both sides.
The CEO of the Fashion Authority explained that this agreement will contribute to providing information on the Saudi market to be put in the hands of interested and stakeholders, to build projects based on reliable numbers, to enhance and develop their business, stressing that the authority works hand in hand with private sector organizations to benefit the fashion sector on Various levels and directions.
This agreement comes in line with the objectives of the Fashion Authority to empower the sector in the Kingdom, encourage investment in it, develop talents affiliated with it, and promote fashion culture locally and internationally.
