The United Nations announces an $80 million rescue plan for Safer

The United Nations announced an emergency plan at a cost of $80 million to rescue the floating oil tanker Safer in the Red Sea and threatened to collapse off the port of Ras Issa in the Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen.
The Safer, built 45 years ago, is used as a floating port and is now loaded with 1.14 million barrels of crude oil, worth about $50 million.
