The Russian presidency announced that there were no breakthroughs in the round of negotiations that took place in Istanbul, Turkey, between the delegations of Moscow and Kiev.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday that there was a "positive point" that the Ukrainian side had begun to formulate its proposals and put them on paper.

Peskov confirmed that the head of the Russian delegation to the negotiations, Vladimir Medinsky, briefed President Vladimir Putin on the results of the Istanbul meeting and will provide additional clarifications on them today.

The spokesman also indicated that no progress had been made during the last call between Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
