Researcher: Russia decided to go to the end in its battle with the West
Yevgeny Sidrov, a political researcher, said that Russia has decided to go to the end in its battle with the West, noting that Moscow is now ready for any sanctions that Western countries and the United States of America may impose.
He added, in his interview with “Al-Ghad” channel, that Russia looks at the three summits of NATO, the European Union and the Group of Seven very calmly, pointing out that Moscow is used to such sanctions and they occurred in 2014 after the annexation of Crimea.
He pointed out that it is expected to increase sanctions against Moscow from Western countries, pointing out that many did not expect the size of these sanctions, but now the Russians are accustomed to such sanctions after a month of war.
He explained that the appreciation of the Russian ruble against the dollar and other currencies has greatly affected the stock exchanges, adding that this step will have a significant impact on subsequent developments.
The leaders of NATO countries agreed, during their meeting in Brussels, to strengthen the eastern wing of the alliance in the face of the military operation launched by Russia in Ukraine.
In a joint statement, the leaders announced their agreement to form four more battle groups in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia, and warned Moscow against the use of chemical weapons, as well as a warning to China against Russia’s support in the Ukraine war.
Allied leaders affirmed their united position in their opposition to war, assistance to the government and people of Ukraine, and defense of the security of all Allies.
