The Saudi-American Business Forum discusses cooperation in 4 economic sectors

Today (Thursday), the Saudi capital, Riyadh, witnessed the holding of the Saudi-American Business Forum, organized by the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, with the participation of the US Embassy in the Kingdom, 14 ministries and government agencies, and representatives of Saudi and American companies.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Federation of Saudi Chambers in charge, Mr. Hussein bin Abdul-Qadir Al-Abdul-Qader, praised the distinguished Saudi-American relations, and the visit of the American delegation coincided with the Kingdom’s decision to lift the precautionary and preventive measures related to combating the Corona pandemic, and what this means for the return of economic activity and commercial and investment movement, reviewing the transformations The Saudi economy is going through under Vision 2030 and the role played by the Saudi private sector, which has become a key driver in implementing and achieving the vision’s aspirations, leading to an increase in its contribution to the GDP from 40% to 65%.

Al-Abdulqader said that the Kingdom today is a "land of opportunities" and a leading international destination for investments from all over the world, and through the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States, we look forward to a greater role for American investments, pointing out that there are enormous opportunities for American companies in sectors that witness great demand and growth and constitute A priority in the Kingdom’s economic agenda due to its connection to Vision 2030, such as: energy and renewable energy, industry, agriculture, mining, tourism and entertainment, health care, transportation and logistics, information and communication technology, and financial services.

For his part, Adviser on Commercial Affairs at the US Embassy in Riyadh James Goulson stressed the importance of the US trade mission’s visit to the Kingdom after two years of virtual meetings, as an opportunity for American business owners to meet with their Saudi counterparts and see first-hand the investment opportunities available, adding that American companies participating in this mission It is considered the largest and best in the economic sectors it represents, and it also shows great interest in pursuing opportunities in the Saudi market, which is the largest in the Gulf region and the Middle East, in sympathy with the Kingdom's position among the G20 countries.

The forum witnessed the holding of round-table meetings in 4 major economic sectors between representatives of Saudi and American companies and government agencies, including security and defense, renewable energy, health care, and information and communication technology.
