His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister - may God protect him - on the occasion of the Cabinet’s approval of the personal status system after completing the regular procedures for studying it in the Shura Council in accordance with the provisions of his system, that the personal status system is the second system projects The four specialized legislations that were announced on Jumada al-Akhirah 26 1442 AH corresponding to February 8, 2021 AD, and the rest of them are: the draft civil transactions system, and the draft penal system for punitive penalties.

His Highness the Crown Prince indicated that the draft personal status system was drawn from the provisions and purposes of Islamic Sharia, and took into account in its preparation the latest legal trends and modern international judicial practices, keeping abreast of developments and changes in reality, and that it will contribute to preserving the family and its stability as the basic component of society, and will work to improve the situation of The family and the child, and controlling the discretionary power of the judge to limit the discrepancy of judicial rulings in this regard.

His Highness stressed that the introduction of a personal status system reflects the leadership's commitment to the development and reform approach, taking into account the latest legal trends and modern international judicial practices, and that the personal status system constitutes a major qualitative leap in efforts to preserve and protect human rights, family stability, women's empowerment and the promotion of rights.

His Highness explained that the system was comprehensive in addressing all the problems that the family and women were suffering from, and carefully organized personal status issues in all its details, and that it will enter into force 90 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.

His Highness the Crown Prince extended his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Saman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God support him - for his great care in developing the legislative system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including with regard to the judicial facility, and raising the efficiency of judicial work, including with regard to the judicial facility. It raises the efficiency of judicial work in a way that guarantees and preserves rights and contributes to achieving prompt justice.

His Highness the Crown Prince had made it clear when the evidence system was issued on 24 Jumada Al-Ula 1443 AH corresponding to December 28, 2021 AD that the personal status system will be issued during the first quarter of 2022 AD.

It is worth noting that the adoption of the Personal Status System comes as a practical translation of the efforts led and directly supervised by His Highness the Crown Prince in creating and reforming systems that preserve rights, establish principles of justice and transparency and achieve comprehensive development, within the system of legislative reforms that the Kingdom is witnessing under the supervision and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may God support him. And under the direct follow-up of His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect him - within the framework of a firm keenness to raise the efficiency of systems, enhance transparency, improve the quality of life, and protect human rights.
